Dawn envisioned an interior that reflected her client’s bold and dynamic personality. An eclectic art collection served as a muse for her approach. Starting with the living room, she used inherited African masks as a key decorative element inspiring curiosity and intrigue. Seeking to create a dialogue between old and new, Dawn restored and cleaned up the original plaster, painted original window frames a high-gloss black in lieu of treatments, and peppered handmade brass accents throughout.
The natural curvature of the bannister adds a moment of play. An inherited restored wooden cabinet, a moment of warmth in the new mod space.
In the dining room, a display of regal and layered elegance. Moody indigo walls set the tone, and Italian black lacquer stiletto chairs hug a round marble dining table, setting the scene for frequent poker nights to come.
